Why is Bright Minds Biosciences Inc. (DRUG) stock moving?

DRUG fell about 52% on Nov 2, from $54.98 to a $26.20 close, on 23,471 trades. That is roughly 10 times the recent daily activity, and the intraday low was $18.90. The catalyst was an FDA partial clinical hold on the planned US Phase 2 BMB-101 trial in DEE. The FDA cited mouse toxicity and insufficient pharmacokinetic and juvenile toxicity data for pediatric enrollment. Management says the hold covers only that planned trial and not other ongoing studies. BTIG kept its Buy rating but cut its target to $37 from $147. It said the absence seizure franchise is still central to the thesis. The hold raises regulatory and pediatric-safety questions and may delay the DEE program. Shareholder-investigation notices add headline noise. The stock now trades well below its prior $47–55 range, with that range as overhead resistance and the $18.90 intraday low as support. Volatility is very high, and the stock may be repriced further as the hold's scope and the company's response become clearer.
