Why is Novo Nordisk A/S (NVO) stock moving?

Novo Nordisk reported Q3 results on Nov 4 that beat expectations on an adjusted basis. Adjusted sales rose 4% at CER to DKK 79.2B and adjusted operating profit rose 27% to DKK 31.7B. Management raised 2026 guidance for the third time this year, to -2% to +2% for both sales and operating profit. It also lifted free-cash-flow guidance to DKK 60-70B. The Wegovy pill is the main driver, with Q3 sales of DKK 5.39B, well above the DKK 4.62B consensus. Weak spots remain: US injectable Wegovy sales fell, and reported operating profit dropped 9% because of DKK 8.7B of impairments. Planned US price cuts and competition from Eli Lilly are still concerns. Shares closed at $40.19 on Nov 3 after climbing from about $38.29 on Oct 28. Premarket trading pointed to a gain of roughly 3.5-5.8%, which would put the stock above the recent $40.78 high. Heavier volume ahead of earnings fits that setup. The 4.4% dividend yield and low P/E add valuation support, but analyst targets near $45 and mixed views, such as a Jefferies Hold, suggest the gains may be contested.
