Why is Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) stock moving?

Amazon rose 6.1% to $266.03 on Nov 4, on about 1.25M shares in the supplied data (92.8M in full-market volume, roughly 142% above its three-month average). That recovers nearly all of the post-earnings drop and puts the stock about 7% below its $287.20 52-week high. Several drivers combined. Investors refocused on Q3 AWS growth of 39% to about $46B and a record 13.9% operating margin. Analysts raised targets: Freedom Broker and Phillip Securities to $330, Mizuho to $335 and BMO to $390. The midterm election outcome also set off a broad rally in big cloud names, with expectations of slower data center build-outs by rivals. The negatives have not gone away. The Q3 EPS of $1.89 missed estimates, advertising missed consensus, and capex of about $220B is roughly twice annualized operating income. Needham flagged possible regulatory headwinds for data centers, and insiders have been net sellers. The average target of about $325 implies roughly 22% upside, and the trailing P/E is around 21. The stock has moved well beyond the prior $245-$255 zone, so some of the news is already in the price. After a sharp one-day jump, a pause or partial pullback is plausible.
